During Super Bowl LVIII, NFL players Solomon Thomas and Saquon Barkley read statements from children struggling with their mental health. Feelings of isolation, inferiority, hopelessness and fear are common, and while it may seem strange to hear the words come from two well-respected and talented players, it goes to highlight that these feelings can inhabit anyone, even people we don't expect. Former player Steve Young continues to say that anxiety affects nearly a third of teens today. Working with the NFL and its Character Playbook, more than two million students have found help with their struggles, but the organization would like to reach millions more. The NFL encourages students to get their school involved with the program at no cost, inviting them to check out its website for more information.
