Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) of "Empire" is being chauffeured through New York City to his concert and asks the driver to pull over. He runs to catch the subway and all color fades to a less saturated tone. A passenger recognizes him and enthusiastically tosses him a brightly colored bottle of Pepsi. As Jamal drinks the Pepsi, the coloring is restored and the song that helped him win an endorsement deal with Pepsi in Season Two, Episode Eight of "Empire" begins to play. The subway passengers begin to stand up, clap, drum and dance along with his song "Ready to Go" as he performs signature moves from the number. Upon exiting the station, Jamal is fully revived and ready for his show. He walks out and the master of ceremonies can be heard introducing him as he confidently approaches the spotlight.
