A woman gets a new miniature horse for her farm, but the other horses don't seem to like the little guy. While the song "Little Man" by Sonny & Cher plays in the background, the woman uses Amazon Prime to purchase a dog door so that the tiny horse can come inside the house when he feels lonely.
iSpot Review - December 11, 2015
This 30-second commercial from Amazon showcasing their Prime
service gets a little help from an unusual animal talent, a miniature horse.
The ad quickly depicts the miniature horse not being liked by the larger horses
that already claim residence on the field. The miniature horse is then
abandoned and left to itself as the other horses congregate on a different part
of the field. But this miniature horse's loneliness is where Amazon capitalizes
on the ad, letting viewers see the simplicity of making purchases on their
mobile app.
The commercial features no dialogue, just the upbeat tempo of Sonny & Cher's "Little Man" playing throughout the duration of the spot. Although horses have been used in other commercials from companies like Budweiser and DirecTV, this may be the first feature of a miniature horse in television advertisement. Several other animals could've been used in place of the miniature horse, but Amazon was wise in their decision as this is sure to be easily remembered and talked about heavily, especially by those with a soft spot for furry, lovable animals.
