Faced with the topic of "dynasties" for an upcoming class presentation, a young woman walks us through her decision to skip the "ancient history and drama" of the patriarchy in favor of a legacy she actually looks up to: The USA Women's Basketball Team. She describes the collective accomplishments of her favorite all-woman dynasty with pride -- style, talent, seven consecutive gold medals -- and says their 25 year undefeated streak "makes Alexander the Great look like Alexander the...Okay." But most importantly, she says as Nike drops a reminder to always "Play New," the legacy of Olympic team's POC women, the gay women and the women who fight for social justice make it possible for girls like herself feel like she could be part of any dynasty they want.
