After surviving an assault that impaired his memory and cost him a leg, illustrator Mark Hogancamp struggles to adapt to the new circumstances of his life. In an attempt to recover and forge a new path forward, he constructs a miniature village named Marwen, a model '40s-era hamlet populated by dolls based on the powerful women in his life. The stories that Hogancamp tells with his art installation mirror the events of his real life, and an inevitable court date approaches where he will be forced to confront his assailants and the traumas of his past. Based on a true story and directed by Robert Zemeckis, "Welcome to Marwen," in theaters Dec. 21, 2018, is rated PG-13.
