For four decades, Joan Castleman has remained dutiful and loyal to her husband Joe, whose burgeoning literary career has provided a means of excusing his affairs and emotional remoteness. As he prepares to accept the Nobel Prize for Literature, Joan reckons with the years of compromises that have forced her to abandon her own ambitions. Tensions bubble to the surface, and this once-complacent wife begins to acknowledge the role that she played in Joe's success. Based on the the Meg Wolitzer novel of the same name, "The Wife" hits theaters Aug. 17, 2018 and is rated R.
