According to Citi, 40 percent of children in Southeast D.C. do not graduate high school. To combat this, the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation (WTEF) provides young people in the D.C. area with after-school exercise and tutoring opportunities to keep them motivated and interested in positive activities. A leader of the foundation explains that since Citi became the sponsor of the Citi Open Tournament, more funds have come in for the WTEF programs and more kids have been helped.
